The Avs announced a new contract for deadline pickup Sven Andrighetto today. The former Montreal Canadien and Rouyn-Noranda Husky joined the Avs for 19 games at the end of last season and picked up 5 goals and 11 assists, also finding a home with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen on the top line. Safe to say he’s part of the younger/faster movement we’ve been hearing so much about.
Per Adrian Dater at BSN it’s a 2-year $2.8M (total) deal, $1.25M in year one then $1.55M in year two, which should give him a boost in his next QO.
I like it. Sven did well in an extremely small sample size so the Avs protected him in the XD and now have him under a reasonable contract for a couple years. Let’s hope he keeps developing.
