Update: The contract has been confirmed to be for one year and $2.5m
When the Vegas Golden Knights selected Calvin Pickard in the expansion draft, we knew the Avalanche would be looking for a new goaltender to supplement Semyon Varlamov next season. Now it looks like Colorado is on the verge of signing Jonathan Bernier to fill that hole.
Would not surprise me if goalie Jonathan Bernier ends up in Colorado.

Yesterday Pierre Lebrun mentioned Bernier in connection with the Avs and this morning Bob McKenzie has confirmed the move.

The former 11th overall selection enjoyed a bit of a career resurrection last season in Anaheim - putting up a respectable .915 save percentage, his best since 2013-14.
Bernier is a guy that is used to playing more than your average backup so it should be expected that he will come in and push Varlamov for playing time.
We don't know the terms of the deal yet, but based on the player alone, do you think this is a good signing for the Avs?
