Sam Brittain and Josh Atkinson Join the Rampage

A goalie and another defenseman for the Silver & Black

San Antonio Rampage

The Rampage announced another pair of signings today. I think they caught on to everyone expecting them on Tuesday, now it’s 2 Mondays in a row. Goalie Sam Brittain, a 4th round choice in 2010 by the Panthers, and Josh Atkinson, an ECHL scoring D, will be with the team starting off with training camp.

Brittain spent four years at DU, winning the NCHC Championship in his senior year, before turning pro. He played a few games for the Rampage as part of the Panthers org back in 14-15. Last year he was mainly with the Manchester Monarchs and got within a game of facing the Eagles for the Kelly Cup.

Atkinson actually spent some time with the Rampage at the end of last year on a PTO but didn’t see game action. He spent 4 years at Alaska-Fairbanks before joining the Rampage’s unofficial 2nd ECHL club in Atlanta last season, tallying 10G/40A in 66 games.

It’s hard to say where a lot of these recent signings will end up, the Rampage and Eagles now have around 35 players on the books combined. We’re getting to the point where there are 2 legitimate teams without any help from the St Louis Blues. Makes you wonder where that plan stands.
