The Colorado Avalanche has announced their rookie camp roster for their one day of on-ice practice at the Family Sports Center on Friday, September 8th and the Rookie Showcase in San Jose from September 9th to 12th.

There will be 28 players in attendance including 15 forwards Travis Barron, JC Beaudin, JT Compher, AJ Greer, Tyson Jost, Alex Kerfoot, Ty Lewis, Sami Moilanen, Julien Nantel, Gustav Olhaver, Hugo Roy, Brady Shaw, Shawn St-Amant, Ben Storm and Dominic Toninato.

The 10 defensemen are Josh Anderson, Gage Ausmus, Chris Bigras, Sergei Boikov, Nolan De Jong, Thomas Gregoire, Anton Lindholm, Nicolas Meloche, Andrei Mironov and Conor Timmins.

Joining Spencer Martin in goal are Petr Kvaca and Francis Leclerc.

The invited players on a try-out agreement are Lewis, Moilanen, Roy, Shaw, St-Amant, Storm, Ausmus, De Jong, Gregoire, and Leclerc with only Storm, De Jong and Ausmus joining the group since development camp in July. Storm is Colorado's former 153rd overall selection in 2013 who has been training with the prospect group all summer in Denver but is not under any contract. Shaw and St-Amant have AHL contracts with the San Antonio Rampage and Ausmus has an ECHL contract with the Colorado Eagles.

Defensemen De Jong is a former captain from Michigan and Ausmus is also a former captain from North Dakota. Both are big left shot defensemen who lean more on the defensive game end of the spectrum. They join a duo of freshly signed forwards Toninato and Kerfoot, who were both captains as well at Minnesota-Duluth and Harvard respectively.

Can't wait to see the group on ice and get the season started!
