Hejduk played his entire 14 season career with the Avs. He trails only Joe Sakic with 1020 game played and his 375 goals places him 4th in franchise history. His will be the 6th number retired by the team joining 19, 21, 33, 52 and 77.
As a special offer to Avs fans, the team is offering cheap tickets ($23) to the game on January 6 to see the retirement ceremony. This offer only lasts until 8 am tomorrow morning - running for 23 hours.
I think Hejduk gets underrated sometimes outside Colorado because he wasn't Forsberg or Sakic. Led the NHL in goals in 2003. https://t.co/YPgzOQ3I6U

Hejduk was a special player and one of the best to pull on that burgundy sweater. Avs fans know just how good he was, even if the rest of the league doesn’t.
This honor was a long time coming and it will be a special night when his number is finally raised to the rafters.
