Avalanche re-assign three more

Training camp roster is down to 45 after today’s cuts

Travis Barron of the Ottawa 67’s

This morning, the Colorado AValanche have trimmed the training camp roster by three.

Re-Assigned

Pos. Player Team (League)
Pos. Player Team (League)
LW Travis Barron Ottawa (OHL)
C J.C. Beaudin San Antonio (AHL)
C Julien Nantel San Antonio (AHL)

Nantel and Beaudin will head to Rampage training camp while Barron will head back to the OHL.

The captain of the Ottawa 67’s, Travis Barron will be welcomed back with open arms as his team dropped their season opener last night 11-2 to the Barrie Colts - a team that finished dead last in the league last season.

Barron looked good in camp and has definitely proven that he is a legitimate prospect in the organization - something that wasn't a certainty a year ago.

Nantel and Beaudin both looked good in limited action this preseason, but are simply a byproduct of too many numbers. They will spend most of the season in San Antonio, working their way towards a potential bottom-6 role in 2018-19.

We might see one or both up with the Avs at some point in the season is the team is able to sell off pending UFAs like Comeau or Colborne.

The team now has three games in three night, so don’t expect any more roster cuts until next Tuesday.
