After sitting out with a groin injury, it looks like things are going well for forward Tyson Jost. He returned to practice on Friday, and should be good for the start of the season [MHH]

Nikita Zadorov isn’t amused with the rumors floating around during his contract negotiations. The defenseman is ready to get to work, and never considered playing in the KHL for the season [NHL.com]

Marc-Edouard Vlasic took a shot at the NHL for their Olympic policy this week…

… so Boston Bruins pest Brad Marchand chimed in with this thoughts, too:

Guess the players would have liked to have gone to the Olympics, eh?

A look at the latest Denver Pioneers freshman to be profiled, Ian Mitchell. “I think all of us are coming in here with the mindset of trying to do whatever we can to help contribute to the team. Obviously, there’s a lot of high-end players returning, so our job is just to try and push them and make them better. But at the same time, they can help make us better too. Obviously, we all want to play, but it’s a pretty loaded depth chart that’s for sure.” [MHH]
