Around the League

Last night, Joel Ward spoke out about potentially taking a knee during the national anthem. Ward spoke about being a victim of a lot of racism growing up in hockey and he’ll talk with his teammates about the best course of action to let his feelings be known.

The Vegas Golden Knights scored their first home goal at T-Mobile Arena yesterday. They have also switched to black gloves and seem to be saving the white gloves for away games.

Happy birthday to the Sedin twins who turned 37 yesterday.

Mike Milbury will be replacing Ed Olczyk on color commentary for NBC. Olczyk is currently recovering from colon cancer surgery. Get well soon Eddie! (Thank goodness the Avs only have one game on NBCSN this year) [USATODAY]
