A very late trade trickling in, The Avalanche have announced that they’ve traded Chris Bigras to the New York Rangers for 22-year old defenseman Ryan Graves

Blockbuster between division rivals!

To St. Louis: 2018 1st round pick + 2018 4th round pick + prospect Erik Foley

Winnipeg is all-in.

Trade between division rivals!

To Nashville: Ryan Hartman + 5th Rd pick in 2018

To Chicago: 1st RD pick in 2018 + Victor Edjsell + 4th Rd pick in 2018

What the heck is Nashville doing? How can you give up a 1st round pick for Ryan Hartman?

10:00 am

The Avalanche have added defenseman Mark Alt.

Alt is a 6’4 right-shooting defenseman that has zero points in eight games with the Flyers this season.

Alt has to stay in the NHL for now. So he wasn’t just added as depth for San Antonio.

8:30 am

The Avanahce have expressed interest in Max Domi of the Arizona Coyotes. He would fit in very well with what the Avs are doing but the goal is to buy low, so unless the price comes down, we aren’t likely to see him move.

6:30 am

While it’s likely to be a busy deadline day around the NHL, not many are expecting the Colorado Avalanche to be very busy. We are likely to see Blake Comeau move. We might see another depth deal or two, but other than that it might be a quiet day for Joe Sakic and his front office.

Then again, we did get word last night that the Avalanche have made a few calls to the Ottawa Senators regarding Erik Karlsson and Bobby Ryan. They are only rumors, but if the Avs are truly trying to land the biggest fish in the pond, things could get very interesting in Denver as the 1pm MST deadline looms.

We will be updating this thread constantly, so check back throughout the day for any news and rumors.
