Colorado Avalanche to play Prospect Tournament in Las Vegas with teams in Pacific Division

Colorado one of six rookie teams to meet in sin city September 8-11th

The Colorado Avalanche announced today that they will take part in a six-team rookie tournament to be held in Las Vegas from September 8th to 11th. This tournament features an expansion of teams to include the Vegas Golden Knights and Los Angeles Kings rookies to the foursome of the Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, and the Avalanche rookies who competed in San Jose last season.

Each year this event has grown to include more teams and to make it a great showcase for upcoming talent in each organization. Some expected participants from the Avalanche include Martin Kaut and Brandon Saigeon from the 2018 draft class as well as top prospects including Conor Timmins if his health allows and Nicolas Meloche.

Ticketing and broadcast information will be released at a later time according to the Golden Knights but the plan is to hold the games at their practice facility at City National Arena in Summerlin. The game schedule is as follows:

Saturday, Sept. 8

Game 1 - ARI vs. SJS, 3 p.m. PT

Game 2 - LAK vs. ANA, 5 p.m. PT

Game 3 - COL vs. VGK, 7 p.m. PT

Sunday, Sept. 9

Game 1 - LAK vs. ARI, 3 p.m. PT

Game 2 - COL vs. ANA, 5 p.m. PT

Game 3 - VGK vs. SJS, 7 p.m. PT

Monday, Sept. 10

Practice day, no games.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Game 1 - ANA vs. ARI, 11 a.m. PT

Game 2 - SJS vs. COL, 11:30 a.m. PT

Game 3 - LAK vs. VGK, 2:30 p.m. PT
