Morning Flurries: Still Undefeated

A day of practice for the NHL’s last remaining undefeated team

NHL: Arizona Coyotes at Colorado Avalanche Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

It was a relatively slow day for the still undefeated Colorado Avalanche who practiced at the home rink of their next opponent, the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was also a quiet day around the league as well after a couple of crazy opening weeks.

Andre Burakovsky enjoyed his trip back to Washington as a member of the visiting team and is getting comfortable in his new home.

If you subscribe to the Athletic be sure to check out this spotlight on Philipp Grubauer and his ascension to the number one goaltender role for the Avalanche.

After one start and loss with the Utah Grizzlies in his first ECHL start, goaltender Hunter Miska was recalled to the Colorado Eagles. No word on a subsequent move or if the Eagles just wanted extra depth in net on hand.

Old friend Chris Stewart finally traded in his PTO with the Philadelphia Flyers for a one year NHL contract. Stewart spent last season playing in England for the Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL so this is quite the comeback story for him.
