Another against the odds victory for the Colorado Avalanche occurred last night as Pavel Francouz was literally knocked out of the game 31 seconds in and rookie Adam Werner was thrust into the fire in his place. Werner responded by saving all 40 shots he faced and earned first star in the 4-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Oh and Cale Makar added this beauty for his fifth goal and 18th point on the season to follow up his NHL third star of the week honors.

Meanwhile in the AHL, backup goalie Hunter Miska took the net for the Colorado Eagles in San Antonio for a fun 9:30 am school day game and created a highlight on his own as he saved a puck with his bare hand. Miska made 38 saves in a 3-1 win.

Perhaps a leak or just a fun concept on the upcoming Avalanche stadium series jersey reveal?

While we weren’t looking the Avalanche uploaded several fun videos including some footage from the Mile High Dreams Gala, their frustrations on highway driving... and puppies!
