For subscribers to the Athletic, a very interesting in-depth piece about Yu Sato who plays in the QMJHL for the Quebec Remparts. The Avalanche have Japanese player in their minor system in Yuri Terao who currently plays for the Utah Grizzlies and likely has experienced a similar journey playing hockey in North America.
Nothing about Yu Sato’s journey from Japan to Quebec City was supposed to happen. His discovery of hockey. Hockey’s discovery of him. None of it.
