As expected the NHL revealed that Nathan MacKinnon won the fan vote to represent the Colorado Avalanche and Central Division as captain at the All-Star game. He joins David Pastrnak, Alex Ovechkin and Connor McDavid as leaders of their respective divisional teams.

This is MacKinnon’s second straight year voted in as captain and fourth consecutive all-star selection. He currently sits third in the league in points with 53 and is on pace to shatter his career best 99 points.
Now the wait is on to see if Cale Makar can get a nod to the all-star game as well to join MacKinnon. Makar is expected to return sometime next week and would aid in getting selected though he is still top-10 in defense scoring and second in rookie scoring to Victor Olofsson despite missing two weeks with an upper-body injury.
The All-Star festivities will take place on January 24th and 25th in St. Louis.
