New Candy Cane Flavors

After leaving the Carolina Hurricanes some Kale flavored candy canes, the Colorado Avalanche players tried some other unusual candy cane flavors. The strawberry cream, and orange ones seemed decent enough, but Clam flavor brought some disagreements. Nikita Zadorov, seemed to like the Clam, saying it tasted like chowder. P.E. Bellemare and Matt Calvert did not like it. Zadorov, also has a strange method of eating candy canes, and Bellemare wasn’t a fan.

Ian Cole’s Traditions

In case you didn’t catch it on his Instagram story, Ian Cole loves the movie Elf. He was watching it yesterday, after wearing his obligatory matching Christmas pajamas. We haven’t seen thins year’s outfit, but he did get in a workout with his tree a few weeks ago.

Mikko Rantanen claims that Cole’s beard makes him this best candidate for team Santa, but they’d have to do something about his red beard.

Other Christmas Presents

Matt Nieto got his favorite Christmas gift when he was in elementary school. The Long Beach, Cali. native got tickets to see the Anaheim Ducks for Christmas, and said “It was probably the most exciting gift I’ve ever gotten.”

The Ducks defeated the Avs 5-2 in Denver in October, but Nieto and the Avs will get their chance for revenge when they visit Anaheim in February, and the Ducks will return to Denver in March.

The 2020 World Junior Championship starts today at 9 a.m. ET. Kazakhstan will face Switzerland, and Russia will take on the Czech Republic to open the tournament. The United States will play Russia at 1 p.m.
