That’s a terrible return for the Predators, but I guess it solidifies their desire to bring in Matt Duchene this summer. If that’s all you can get for a hihg-end RD, the Avalanche had better hold on to Tyson Barrie.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have also cleared a ton of cap space by trading Patrick Marleau to Carolina. The Hurricanes are set to buy him out so he can go back to the Sharks.
.@SportChek Player Alert: The @MapleLeafs have acquired a 2020 sixth-round pick from Carolina in exchange for Patrick Marleau, a conditional first round pick (2020) and a seventh round pick (2020).

The Leafs have also agreed to an extension with Kasperi Kapanan
TOR, more or less, has an agreement in place with Kasperi Kapanen on an extension. Not expected to be formalized until TOR cap (Marner) situation clarified. It will be a 3 year deal with an AAV in the $3.2M to $3.4M range.
