Bye bye Spencer Martin, we hardly knew ye

Monday afternoon is the deadline for NHL teams to extend qualifying offer for their pending restricted free agents. As such, the Colorado Avalanche have decided to cut ties with a handful of players.

The team decided not to tender qualifying offers to goaltender Spencer Martin, defenders Sergei Boikov and Mason Geertsen, as well as forwards Julian Nantel and Sven Andrighetto. As a result, the five players will become unrestricted free agents on July 1st.

Andrighetto is the only one of the group that has spent time in the NHL and it became very apparent last season that he was not a part of the plans for the future.

That means that the following RFAs have been tendered qualifying offers:

J.T. Compher - $832,500

Sheldon Dries - $832,500

Ryan Graves - $650,000

A.J. Greer - $675,000

Vladislav Kamenev - $832,500

Alex Kerfoot - $832,500

Anton Lindholm - $650,000

Mikko Rantanen - $832,500

Dominic Toninato - $832,500

Nikita Zadorov - $2,200,000
