The Avs
The Colorado Avalanche have been fairly quiet so far this summer. Their name hasn’t come up in a lot of rumors, especially when it comes to trades. More likely than not, Joe Sakic and the Avs are focused on RFA negotiations with a lot of their key young players so they have a decent picture of how much money they can spend come Draft Day (via trade) and free agency.
This morning, Jackie took another stab at where those RFA contracts might land, throwing in a little more context surrounding comparables and all that - Mile High Hockey
Last night, the expansion Newfoundland Growlers beat the Toledo Walleye in the ECHL Kelly Cup Final in six games. They won it at home in front of an amazing crowd that all got to watch them hoist the second Kelly Cup. Not the first, because the Colorado Eagles still have that.

In closer to home news, the Avalanche social media accounts have given us some great summer content on the players, including a really sweet story about Tyson Barrie - NHL dot com

Also last night, Sean Avery got the entire country of Canada in a tizzy when he told his Instagram Story that Nazem Kadri had been traded for Jacob Trouba.
I’m all for Sean Avery becoming our next great hockey insider, as long as every trade is broken via IG story at pretentious nightspots in the Meatpacking District. Or, failing that, while eating brunch at La Bonbonniere.

Toronto did pretty much exactly what you’d expect them to do. He was trending #1 in Canada!
I have no idea if he is legit or not (I’m gonna go with probably not), but Sean Avery says that Nazem Kadri has been traded for Jacob Trouba. pic.twitter.com/EXXugh8vAl
