When Nathan MacKinnon was named as the only representative for the Colorado Avalanche at this year’s NHL All Star game, fans immediately started listing Cale Makar among the biggest snubs. It’s not just Avs fans who thought so. Cale Makar won this week’s NHL FanPulse poll as the biggest All Star snub this year - with Sebastian Aho of he Carolina Hurricanes coming in second place.

At the end of the day, the All Star game simply doesn’t matter - as is evident by the response that nearly half of the people replying to the polls said they wouldn’t bother watching the game. That said, it would have been nice to see Cale Makar’s amazing puck skills in the 3 on 3 format. It’s ok, this season was a bit of a last hurrah Central Division defenders Roman Josi and Alex Pietrangelo as the blueline on that team is going to be taken up by Makar and Miro Heiskanen for the foreseeable future.
