Happy Sunday Avs Faithful! As we all continue to wait the arrival of the NHL season, a few updates have been given in relation to the dates and underlying details of the potential start to the 2020-21 season.

This article made me a bit uneasy for a few reasons, but the conversations will not be easy to have in order for the season to begin. From the lost revenue from empty seats, to the thought process of owners to skip the season entirely, a dark cloud seems to be in the distance. However, Gary Bettman is the ray of light in the sky (can’t believe I’d ever write that) to save the season. Do what you have to do Gary!

Some Avalanche news...

An interesting article was posted on NHL.com on Friday. Philipp Grubauer and Elvis Merzlikins of the Columbus Blue Jackets, have been finding interesting ways to stay sharp during this unusual off-season. With the help of virtual reality, these goaltenders are getting reps in while in the confines of their own homes. Pretty innovative & all I can say watching the video is... Be careful Grub!

Now a look back for a moment...

Just 3 days ago, I saw a small post about a very monumental moment for the Colorado Avalanche. November 5th 2017 is a date that many Avalanche fans will remember for good reason. It marked the beginning of a new era for the Avs. Matt Duchene, one of the most important players in Avalanche history, was shipped off to the Ottawa Senators for a haul of relatively unknown players. Years later, the trade has become the face of the Avalanche’s rise in the NHL.

Here is a clip that shows exactly how this trade has played out since that infamous day.

IN SUPER JOE WE TRUST

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
