The Colorado Avalanche have traded for some goaltending depth as they acquire Michael Hutchinson from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defender Calle Rosen. With Philip Grubauer’s health in question, Joe Sakic has been looking to add another goaltender to the organization. Hutchinson comes over after appearing in 15 games with the Maple Leafs this season. His NHL stint was very underwhelming, putting up a 4-9-1 record and a .886 sv%.

Hutchinson is currently playing in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies and and while he might end up with the Avalanche to serve as the backup to Pavel Francouz, he will likely first report to the Eagles.

Rosen was acquired by the Avs as a part of the Nazem Kadri blockbuster this past summer. He had two assists in eight NHL games this season and has two goals and 15 points in 35 games with the Colorado Eagles this season.
