Just 51 games into the season, Cale Makar has broken the previous franchise record of points by a defenseman in a single season. The record was 37 and had stood since the 1984-1985 season, but with 11 goals and 27 assists, Makar now holds the record with 38 points. There are 31 games remaining in the regular season, so this is Makar’s record to run away with.
Burakvosky’s Success
Not to be outshone by his teammate, Andre Burakovsky found his own milestone on Tuesday night. He set a new career high in points scored in a single season by scoring a career high four points against the Buffalo Sabres. He now has 39 points this season, which improves on his previous career high of 38 from 2015-2016 and he also has 31 regular season games in which to raise his total.
Rosen Recalled, Barberio Sent Down
#Avs announce they have called up defenseman Calle Rosen while defenseman Mark Barberio will go to the Colorado Eagles for a conditioning assignment. #EaglesCountry

Mark Barberio has not played since since December 18, and has been a healthy scratch since then. Yesterday, the Colorado Avalanche announced they were sending him to the Colorado Eagles for a conditioning assignment, and recalling Calle Rosen to take his place. Rosen has two points in eight games played with the Avs this season. He is not expected to play during this call-up, but will provide insurance while Barberio is in Loveland.
Stadium Series Fan Festival
With only nine days until the Stadium Series game at the United States Air Force Academy, the Avs are promoting other events for fans in addition to the game against the Los Angeles Kings. For four and a half hours before the game, there will be a free fan fest on the academy campus. It will include a flyover, skills challenges with prizes, and an appearance by the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile.
Colorado Eagles Update
