For the first time in forever, (with the exception of Colin Wilson), the Avs will have a fully healthy lineup. With that being said, the Coach Bednar and Joe Sakic have an interesting problem on their hands concerning their forward depth.
Landeskog - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Namestnikov - Kadri - Burakovsky
Donskoi - Jost - Compher
Calvert - Bellemare - Nichushkin
While not every man will get to play, there's one guy who played in a lot of games this season that won't be in the 4-line combo. In my prediction I chose Matt Nieto as the odd man out.
No matter how you shuffle the lines up, there will be a man who played a big role this season watching from the press box. I want to see who YOU think will be the odd man out come August 2nd, hopefully not because of an injury in training camp. There will be a poll attached to this post.
Matt Nieto - 70 GP, 8 G, 13 A, 21 P, penalty killer, and creates scoring chances efficiently on the PK
Val Nichushkin - 65 GP, 13 G, 14 A, 27 P, penalty killer, and can play on any line
PE Bellemare - 69 GP, 9 G, 13 A, 22 P, penalty killer, and experienced veteran with playoff experience
Matt Calvert - 50 GP, 12 G, 13 A, 25 P, penalty killer, and gritty forechecker
Who do you think will be the odd man out? Let me know why you think a certain player might find himself as the 13th forward. I'd love to hear what other Avs fans think about this topic.
