Outside of game news and injury updates there isn’t much fresh content on the Colorado Avalanche these days. Recently a contingent of former Avalanche players including Adam Foote, Adam Deadmarsh and Mike Ricci joined together to discuss the move from Quebec to Colorado among other topics from the glory years.

From the past to the present, Tyson Jost and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare spent some time speaking with and answering questions from the local Boys and Girls Club.

The WHL announced a return to play for their final division as the province of British Columbia approved their plan for a 24 game season beginning on March 26th. This start date is only somewhat relevant to the Avalanche in the case of Bowen Byram who seems to have cemented his position in the lineup anyhow but his former junior team in the Vancouver Giants getting underway would mean he could not be assigned to the AHL or taxi squad at that time. This news leaves the OHL as the only major junior league yet to compose a plan to play.

The Colorado Eagles recently lost an important member of their organization as their founder and former President Ralph Backstom passed away. The Eagles have done a great job of honoring Backstrom through their first few weeks of play.
