Recapping the Colorado Avalanche Top-25 Under-25 list

The Top 25 Under 25 is a collaboration by members of the Mile High Hockey community. Eight writers have ranked players under the age of 25 as of August 1, 2021 in the Colorado Avalanche organization. Each participant used their own metric of current ability and production against future projection to rank each player. Now, we’ll count down each of the 25 players ranked.

There it is, another top-25 under 25 series come and gone. For the first time, we had a list without Nathan MacKinnon but what’s amazing about this organization is the fact that the list is still headlined by two superstars. Both Cale Makar, Mikko Rantanen and probably even Sam Girard would be at the top of the vast majority of most lists around the NHL and we get to watch them all in burgundy and blue.

If nothing else, this list shows that while they’re already a Stanley Cup contender, the Avalanche have a ton of young talent that hasn't even made it to their prime yet.
