After a big comeback in win Toronto the Colorado Avalanche hope to extend their win streak to four against the plucky Montreal Canadiens.

Colorado Avalanche

Jared Bednar didn’t give many details this morning on the lineup but the smart bet is to expect the same as the game in Toronto. The team doesn’t have any healthy extras available and therefore Caleb Jones would slot in at forward again.

Miles Wood has joined the team and could play tomorrow night as he recovers from an illness. The talk of the morning is the continued absence of Val Nichushkin which the league has now announced he has entered the player’s assistance program.

Jonathan Drouin (27) - Nathan MacKinnon (29) - Mikko Rantanen (96)
Joel Kiviranta (94) - Ross Colton (20) - Logan O’Connor (25)
Andrew Cogliano (11) - Ryan Johansen (12) - Jason Polin (41)
Kurtis MacDermid (56) - Fredrik Olofsson (22) - Caleb Jones (82)

Devon Toews (7) - Cale Makar (8)
Sam Girard (49) - Josh Manson (42)
Jack Johnson (3) - Sam Malinski (70)

Montreal Canadiens

Former Av Alex Newhook is still recovering from injury and Justin Barron is expected to be a healthy scratch so no reunions on ice tonight. Perhaps there’s a future Av in the lineup such as Sean Monahan.

Caufield (22) - Suzuki (14) - Slafkovsky (20)
Harvey-Pinard (49) - Evans (71) - Gallagher (11)
Roy (89) - Monahan (91) - Armia (40)
Pezzetta (55) - Stephens (13) - Ylonen (56)

Guhle (21) - Matheson (8)
Struble (47) - Savard (58)
Harris (54) - Kovacevic (26)

The leagues’s third star of the week, aka Alexander Georgiev is expected to get the net tonight for Colorado with perhaps Justus Annunen tomorrow in Ottawa. For the Habs it is Jake Allen who will get the nod.
