GDT: Avalanche at the 2014 NHL Draft - Day 2

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! Your Colorado Avalanche staff continues to add the fine fellows of the future today in rounds 2 through 7.

Barring trades, the Avs will be selecting 84th in the 3rd Round, 93rd & 114th in the 4th round, 144th in the 5th Round, 174th in the 6th Round and 204th in the 7th Round.

Our diligent and knowledgeable MHH Staff will put up articles right after the picks are made, then update more in depth later. Please feel free to add any info there or here on the later picks most of us know absolutely nothing about.

Ryan Boulding wrote up a nice late night look at our 23rd selection, Conner Bleackley, after sitting in on a conference call. Check it out.

There’s a long way to go yet for the beaming 18-year-old but being drafted by Sakic and the Avalanche is going to be a moment that Bleackley will always remember. Adding to the excitement of the day, Bleackley admitted that he’d already heard from a few players on the team.

"Gabe (Landeskog) and (Matt) Duchene and those guys, they tweeted me," said Bleackley. "That was pretty cool and I got a text from Matt Duchene and Max Talbot and I talked to Gabe briefly on the phone. It was pretty cool."

Gotta love the guys on this team.
