Redmond to Join Team USA

As many of you are already aware: "UPDATE - April 16 Defenseman Zach Redmond (Traverse City, Mich.) has been added to the 2015 U.S. Men's National Team roster. The Colorado Avalanche and former Ferris State University defenseman will be representing the U.S. for the first time."

Think you can do a better job as GM? New GM simulation game out!.

Back in 2007 Sports Interactive (company behind Football Manager/World Soccer Manager PC sim game) released a game called Eastside Hockey Manager, and I've been playing that on and off ever since. Sadly sales werent what they wanted, so they stopped development, but now its making a long awaited return!.
Out of the blue they released an updated early access version on steam last week of March, so now you can take over as GM for the Avs and prove that you've got what it takes to take em back to the highs of the Stanley Cup... this is an early version, and the AI is in need of some updates, but its pretty good from the get go.
You can get updated rosters from these guys here so that you get the actual players.

D-men development a science

Good article with nice things said about Tyson Barrie's awesomitude.

Jan Hejda could be moved by deadline; Rangers an option?

if Colorado doesn't win both games and falls further out of the playoff picture, expect Hejda to be moved to a playoff-bound team by Monday's trade deadline. The New York Rangers, looking for defensive depth for the playoffs, would likely have the most interest in Hejda as a playoff "rental."

Martin Brodeur finally retiring

Staying on as a 'Loo for their front office. Didn't know there was a Donut Liaison in St. Louis.

Chris Bigras v Connor McDavid

teeRav posted this clip via Cody Nickolet to the Cupcakes thread. As Niwot suggested, you may need time in your bunk after watching this. That's okay. Just don't forget to clean up after yourself.

Avs are trending on Yahoo!

I know Yahoo! isn't the most relevant site, but it's nice to see some love, eh? Outdoor game 2016!

Watch goalie Reto Berra score goal from his own crease

Berra, currently on a conditioning assignment with the Lake Erie Monsters, is just the 11th goalie in 79 years to score a goal in an AHL game. The last to do it was Chris Holt of Binghamton in 2010.

Why hockey is the best sport ever

The best of the NHL best couldn't skate with these guys. Puts a new perspective on the sport and the athletes who play it.
